Trip Highlights: A Journey Through Morocco in Story, Spice & Soul

Flavors of Morocco is more than a culinary tour—it's a sensory adventure through the heart of North Africa, where every stop brings you deeper into tradition, connection, and the joy of shared experience. Crafted by Liz Jackson of GOGI Abroad and culinary storyteller Ayda Robana—together with our trusted partners at Beyond Morocco Travel—this journey blends food, culture, and adventure into an unforgettable exploration.

This is an invitation to cook with families, be immersed in the laughter and language of Moroccan hospitality, and share in centuries-old traditions through stories passed around the table. You’ll experience the true heart of Moroccan life through every bite, every conversation, and every joyful gathering—complete with henna, mint tea, and moments that linger long after you return home.

Here’s just a taste of what awaits:

🧿 Arrive in Marrakech and be welcomed with warmth and spice.
Wander the ancient medina, explore vibrant souks, and dine on slow-cooked tagines by candlelight. Discover the pulse of the city as storytellers and musicians light up Jemaa El Fna square under the stars.

🧿 Step into Moroccan ritual with a traditional hammam spa.
Soak, steam, and unwind—just like generations have before you. It's not just self-care, it's cultural immersion.

🧿 Cook alongside Moroccan families in their homes.
Visit bustling local markets, gather seasonal ingredients, and prepare iconic dishes like tangia and chicken pastilla in intergenerational kitchens filled with laughter, memory, and spice. Expect warmth, storytelling, and the beauty of shared meals.

🧿 Experience henna as both art and ritual.
Join a traditional henna ceremony—an expression of healing, celebration, and cultural artistry passed down through generations.

🧿 Cross the High Atlas Mountains to ancient kasbahs and Saharan sands.
Wind through scenic mountain passes to Aït Ben Haddou, then descend into the desert for a golden-hour camel ride to your luxury nomadic camp. Dine fireside with drumming, stars, and stories.

🧿 Get lost (and found) in the labyrinth of Fès.
Visit one of the world’s oldest universities, watch artisans at work, and wander through 9,000 alleyways bursting with history, beauty, and the scent of saffron and cedar.

🧿 Taste Morocco’s unexpected wine country.
Enjoy a private tasting at a vineyard near Meknès and relax with a countryside lunch before arriving in the relaxed elegance of Rabat.

🧿 Savor the coast and culture of Rabat and Casablanca.
Shop for fresh fish in seaside markets, learn coastal recipes with local chefs, and take in the sweeping beauty of the Atlantic from blue-and-white kasbah walls. Your farewell dinner at Rick’s Café is the perfect final toast to a journey well lived.
