Express Fluency : El Camino and ESPAÑOL

Step Into Spain: Culture, Language & El Camino

CAMINO EN ESPAÑOL

Imagine waking up in a small Spanish village, grabbing a café con leche, lacing up your walking shoes, and heading out along the legendary Camino de Santiago.

Now imagine doing it while actually using your Spanish every day.

Camino en Español is a collaboration between GOGI Abroad + Express Fluency, combining immersive travel, meaningful cultural connection, and real-life Spanish practice into one unforgettable adventure

 Walk. Speak. Connect. Experience Spain.

This is not a Spanish class.

It’s Spanish in real life.

Order your coffee in Spanish.
Chat with people on the trail.
Read menus.
Ask for directions.
Share tapas.
Meet pilgrims from around the world.
Laugh when you say something completely wrong.
And discover how much Spanish you actually know.

Spanish is woven naturally into the entire journey, with support from Express Fluency, GOGI guides, and Spanish-speaking locals along the way.

DO I NEED TO SPEAK SPANISH?

You do not need to be fluent.

This trip is best for travelers who already have some basic conversational Spanish and want to become more comfortable actually using it in the real world.

The goal isn’t perfect grammar.

The goal is connection.

•Do you want to walk the Camino de Santiago, but don’t know how to start?

•Are you a single traveler looking to walk with others?

•Do you have a curiosity about what walking a pilgrimage can offer and want the support of a coach to help you prepare physically, mentally, and, maybe even, spiritually?

•Do you want to explore Madrid, eat at amazing restaurants, and check out some incredible places with GOGI Guides and Express Fluency?

•Short on time but still want to experience the magic of the Camino? Join us for a fun, hassle-free trip where everything is planned for you!

If you can say “YES” to any of these questions, then this trip is for you.

The Camino offers opportunities for discovery with cross-cultural experiences, natural, historic, and religious sites, a doable physical challenge, spiritual pursuit, and more!

Trying to put my experience with GOGI Abroad into words is difficult because each journey has been so unique and meaningful. I’ve had the pleasure of traveling with GOGI Abroad and Liz on three trips, and each one holds a special place in my heart.

I chose these journeys because I wanted to experience another part of the world in a way that truly immersed me in the culture and magic of each place. GOGI has an incredible gift for bringing different worlds together through her love of our planet and the people who inhabit it.

Whether staying with an Indigenous family in Ecuador and finding connection beyond the language barrier, hiking through the beautiful landscapes of Peru and Spain, while learning its history, or swimming among the incredible plant and animal life of the Galápagos Islands, there was always a common thread: connection, simplicity, joy, and community.

Thank you, GOGI Abroad, for offering experiences of a lifetime. I look forward to many more.”
— Lisa Dumont

Each person has their own Camino — the pace you walk, what you choose to carry, what you eat, where you visit, and where you sleep, who you spend time with along the Way, and how far you want to travel in a given amount of time. Whatever your choices, everyone needs to take similar first steps. Sometimes just deciding to walk the Camino is the biggest step in this glorious and potentially life-changing experience.

At GOGI, we believe in the transformative power of authentic travel. Our trips immerse travelers in the language, culture, and people of a new community. Our trips are “soul immersion” experiences, where we connect with and learn from those who are different from us and experience the fundamental ways in which we are all connected.A lot of travel involves taking, so our trips focus on giving to the communities we stay with. This giving back makes the travel more meaningful for everyone involved. It strengthens our bonds, inspires inner growth, and changes perspectives.

Cultural immersion is more than just being a tourist and seeing the sights, it's an opportunity to engage meaningfully with individuals and a community, to build relationships, make connections, and live life as they do.

Our trips facilitate spiritual, intellectual, and personal growth by taking the time to connect deeply with the people whose culture we’re visiting. By taking the time to steep in the culture, we see more, feel more, and the culture becomes more alive for us. Small, but far-reaching, shifts begin happening within us.

COME FOR THE CAMINO.

Leave with so much more.

Come for the walking.

Come for the Spanish.

Come for the food.

Come for the challenge.

Come for the people.

Come because you’ve always wondered what it would feel like to walk the Camino.

And somewhere between Madrid and Santiago, you may discover that the journey gives you something you weren’t expecting at all.

One conversation. One village. One step at a time.

Triacastela → Samos → Sarria → Portomarín → Palas de Rei → Melide → Arzúa → O Pedrouzo → Santiago de Compostela

THE ADVENTURE

We’ll begin in Madrid, then travel north to Galicia to walk the final stretch of the famous Camino Francés.

Triacastela → Samos → Sarria → Portomarín → Palas de Rei → Melide → Arzúa → O Pedrouzo → Santiago de Compostela

And after reaching Santiago?

We keep going to the Atlantic coast and Finisterre — once believed to be “the end of the earth.”

We’ll walk approximately 87-100 miles on the Camino, and with our Madrid exploring, you’ll clock close to 100 miles in Spain!
