The Unique Benefits of a GOGI Abroad Summer Journey

  • Expert Leadership

This isn’t just about learning—it’s about doing. Through collaborative group projects, meaningful community partnerships, and immersive hands-on experiences, students work side by side with local youth. Together, they explore real-world challenges and deepen their understanding of what it truly means to live—and actively engage—as a thoughtful, responsible global citizen.

  • Real-World Learning

  • Cultural Immersion

In Peru, for example, students live and work with an Indigenous community in the Andes, partnering with the Q’ewar Project to build adobe structures and create traditional crafts. Afternoons are filled with language immersion and artistic expression—spinning wool, shaping clay, or weaving textiles with community members who share their knowledge with heart and humor.

  • Stunning Global Locations

We choose sites of exceptional natural beauty and cultural richness—places that spark curiosity and invite meaningful exploration. Whether trekking to Machu Picchu, snorkeling in the Galápagos, hiking through Bali’s lush jungles, or walking with Maasai elders in Tanzania, each experience is designed to inspire awe, foster connection, and ignite lifelong learning.

  • “When I travelled to Cadiz this summer I was excited and nervous at the same time. When I got to Spain I met my host family, who turned out to be incredibly friendly, caring and outgoing. We had amazing meals, incredible adventures and great Spanish classes. Everyone got along and had a great time. We had lots of fun traveling all around the Cadiz area, and we all wish we could’ve stayed longer. My favorite place that we visited was a beach just outside of Cadiz; the water was a beautiful color and crystal clear! We climbed a sand dune on the beach and laid on the cold sand in the shade of the trees at the top. Spain was absolutely beautiful and everyone there was so welcoming and friendly. This experience was amazing and I hope to go back soon!” - Gracie, Spain student

  • “My favorite memory from the Gogi Abroad trip to Tanzania this summer was getting the opportunity to reconnect with so many people I had met last summer. Because this was my second time to Tanzania, most of the culture shock didn’t affect me as much, but the connections I made never faded. One woman, who I had made traditional Maasai jewelry with last year, she recognized me when we were walking through Longido. She told me that her daughters, who I had also met the year before, wanted to say hello to me and give me a gift. I was surprised because this family didn’t even know if I was going to return this year but they still remembered the connection we had made almost a year ago. All of the Gogi Abroad trips that I have been on have taught me that genuine connections don’t fade with time and distance.” - Abby, Student

  • “I am so thankful for being able to have gone on the trip to Ecuador. Every person I saw there retained a warm presence and a welcoming attitude. Being there reinforced my wanderlust by showing me once again how utterly beautiful and contrasting the world can be. Everything we did on this trip from working at the Palugo farm to staying with host families was not only very fun but also a learning experience. Most of all this trip was the experience of a lifetime.” - Graciana Childs, Ecuador student
