Trip Description

Immerse yourself in Spanish language and culture in Cádiz, the oldest city in Europe. Explore the cobblestone streets, friendly faces, and vibrant culture of Cádiz. Cádiz is a manageable size, with a unique combination of an open port city and one of the oldest civilizations in Europe. There is a thriving Spanish culture here, with many students, but few American tourists. This birthplace of Flamenco has some of the cleanest beaches in Spain! Cádiz is a hidden jewel.

Gogi has deep connections in Madrid and north in Jaca and Huesca for 20 years. During our ten years leading trips to Cádiz, we have developed an affiliation with K2 Internacional School and the two amazing sisters who founded it. Our homestay families have grown with us throughout the years and it always feels like the Gogi tribe is returning home when we arrive with a group in Spain!

Testimonials

  • "Our trip to Cádiz (Spain) was a 10/10. It provided students with a unique and invaluable opportunity to apply their language skills, gain a deep understanding of Spanish culture, and grow personally. The trip was well-organized. It had a really good variety of activities in the program. Liz was a wonderful leader that made very close connections with our students. My students were fully engaged at all times, and the impact on their education and personal development was undeniable. They became more self-reliant, adaptable, and culturally sensitive. They broadened their perspectives, challenged their assumptions, and gained a greater appreciation for diversity. The experience encouraged them to think globally and cultivate a more profound sense of empathy for others. I am convinced that this experience will resonate with my students for a lifetime, inspiring them to continue exploring the world and embracing diverse cultures. ¡Gracias de corazón"! — Maitane Elorza, Teacher at Sonoma Academy

  • "I was nervous about sending my daughter to Spain with Gogi Abroad, because she’s never even been to a sleepover camp, yet I knew she’d be in great hands with Liz. Gogi Abroad leaders care deeply about each of the kids, and she felt so comfortable with Liz. I’m so glad she did this trip because she had a life-changing experience"! — Parent of Spain trip student

  • “When I travelled to Cadiz this summer I was excited and nervous at the same time. When I got to Spain I met my host family, who turned out to be incredibly friendly, caring and outgoing. We had amazing meals, incredible adventures and great Spanish classes. Everyone got along and had a great time. We had lots of fun traveling all around the Cadiz area, and we all wish we could’ve stayed longer. My favorite place that we visited was a beach just outside of Cadiz; the water was a beautiful color and crystal clear! We climbed a sand dune on the beach and laid on the cold sand in the shade of the trees at the top. Spain was absolutely beautiful and everyone there was so welcoming and friendly. This experience was amazing and I hope to go back soon!” - Gracie, Spain student
